After I had Conner I, of course, was still toting some extra baby pounds for a few months. I usually don't buy new clothes so soon after having a baby, but I came across a shirt that I absolutely loved and it was on clearance for $7 - down from its $29 price tag. I got it in a size large which fit good at the time. Now I've lost my extra pounds and when I would put on my beloved clearance shirt my bra would show through the arm holes. And, well, that's just not pleasant.
The shirt wasn't on sale anymore and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to find it anyway because it was last season. Yeah, I don't care much about what's currently "in style." I wear what I like. ;o) Getting rid of it wasn't an option because I love it so and buying a new one wasn't an option either.
So, here is how I fixed my shirt to make it fit. It's really simple and all you need is access to a basic sewing machine. You could even do it by hand with needle and thread, but that takes awhile.
Put on the shirt and pinch under your arms how much you want to take up making the shirt fit more snug. Use a satety pin or straight pin to mark how much you want to take in.
Turn your shirt inside out. Using a sewing machine sew down the sides along the seams at the spot your marked with pins.
