I've gotten some emails about the Upromise program and wanted to explain a little about it. I've been with Upromise since 2001 and I LOVE it! Upromise is a free program that allows you to save money for college by making your everyday purchases. They have eCoupons that you activate each month and instead of the money coming off at the register it gets deposited into your account. You can also get up to 8% cash back for dining out at an approved restaurant. There are thousands to choose from. You could even get their own credit card and earn with your purchases. There are so many ways to earn money and believe me it adds up fast!
You can even link your own student loan accounts to pay on - if they're from a list of approved lenders. They give you the option of rolling your money into a 529 account or in a high interest account. Plus, if you don't want your money to sit in the account for all those years you can always request a check!
I highly recommend this program and I have majorly benefited from it for the past 10 years.
