I had plans for the discounted bread and the bananas, but I messed around until the bread got rock hard and the bananas mushy. Did I throw them out? No way!
It's funny because when I was 16 I went to Madrid, Spain for a little less than 2 weeks and all the bread they had was rock hard like my loaf. I hated it. I remember my Spanish teacher saying "You learn to appreciate the hard bread when it's all you can afford." It took many, many years for me to understand. I still don't like rock hard bread, but I'm sure I could learn to love it...but for now I'll just use it up in other ways.
I turned my hard loaf into bread crumbs which I need anyway.
I kept this can after I ran out of the bread crumbs. The can originally cost over $2. I once again have a full can of bread crumbs and it only cost $.50 (the price of the bread!)
The little soldier is the work of my 9 year old. He likes to sneak his toys into my pics - little rascal. :o)

My bananas turned into yummy banana muffins. I found a new recipe HERE that I find super simple and delish!
