Test Your Oven

I saw this yesterday and thought I would share.  You can test your oven to see if it's running cold or hot.

Test if your oven is running cold:

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees (186 C)
2. Place a small amount of granulated sugar in an oven-proof dish or on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil.
3.  Place in oven for 15 minutes.
4.  If your oven is calibrated correctly, the sugar will melt.
5. If your oven is running cold, the sugar will not melt.

Test if your oven is running hot:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (177 C) 
2. Follow same procedures above
3. If your oven is calibrated correctly your sugar will not melt but may brown a little.
4. If your oven is running hot the sugar will melt.
