My project started last year when I took my son to one of his checkups. It was right after Christmas. And as it always is, the waiting room was slam full. There was this little boy who kept coming up to me giving me hugs. I had never seen him before, but he was so loveable! I asked him what Santa brought him and he told me that Santa had ran out of presents before he got to his house. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I looked over at his mom and she wouldn't look at me. I know she had to hear him. I looked at him, trying so hard not to cry and said "That happens sometimes, but it won't always be that way." He smiled and kept playing with the toys. I got up and took my son to the bathroom where I cried my eyes out. I was so incredibly sad that day. That's when I decided that I would create a Toys For Tots fund in our budget. And I am glad to say that I have saved up the amount I planned and will be using this money to buy presents to donate to Toys For Tots. I have always picked up little toys here and there and placed them in the boxes up front at Toys R Us, but now I will be making a special trip just to fill up that box and that makes me happy.
