Save Money On Car Costs

There are several ways to save money just by keeping up your car. Here are some tips to keep down your costs:

- When you have your car inspected next ask for the mechanic to check if the oxygen sensor is working properly.  If it isn't a new one can improve your mileage up to 15%.

- Driving 55 mph saves you 15% more fuel than driving 65 mph.  Set the cruise control and ride!  People in a hurry can pass...

- Rotate your tires every 6 months (or every 6,000 miles.)  The cost could double the life of your tires.

- Instead of getting your oil changed every 3,000 miles hold out until 6,000.  This could save you over $75 a year.

- Keep your tires properly inflated.  When tires are not inflated they require more energy to begin moving and to maintain speed. Under-inflated tires contribute to pollution and also increase fuel costs. The average person who drives 12,000 miles yearly on under-inflated tires uses about 144 extra gallons of gas, at a cost of $300-$500 a year.

- Shop around for gas.  Go HERE to check out your local prices.
