I live out in the sticks. Making lots of trips to different stores doesn't really work well for me. I have three children who can't seem to behave as soon as we set foot in a store and an SUV that doesn't get great gas mileage. Saving $5 on a product doesn't make much sense if it costs me $10 in gas and my sanity to get the deal. See where I'm going with this? So, occasionally I take advantage of Walmart's price matching policy. There were some deals that I wanted to take advantage of at a couple of stores, but only wanted to make one trip. I hit Wally World. On a Saturday no less. Yes, it was a little crazy, but it saved me time and energy. Here's what I got:
(5) Dove Soap single bars (reg. $1.27 each at my Walmart)
I price matched last weeks Walgreens ad at 5 for $5. I had to buy 5 to get the deal. I used two $1.50/2 printables. There were some problems with the coupon beeping, but after a little "discussion" with the manager that the coupon clearly states $1.50 on ANY two Dove products it was pushed thru.
made them $.40 each
(4) Toaster Streudel (reg. $2.29 at my Walmart)
I price matched the Harvey's ad at $1.50 each. The good thing about price matching is I didn't have to buy 10 participating items to get it at that price. Score! I also used $1/2 printables.
made them $1 each
(4) Totinos Pizzas (reg. $1.35 at my Walmart)
I price matched Harvey's ad at $.75 each. Again, I didn't have to buy 10 participating items to get them at that price. Sadly, I didn't have any coupons to go with it, but $.75 was still a good deal on them.
(4) Black Flag Fly Papers $.99
(used $1/1 coupons from the 6/3 RP insert)
made them FREE
(1) Dentek Flossers 100 pack $2
(used $1/$2 coupon mailed to me)
made them $1
I also got some school supplies such as $.50 Composition Notebooks, $.86 filler paper (150 sheets), $.50 Crayola 24 pack crayons, $.88 pencil top erasers and $.15 folders with prongs.
If you would like to simplify your shopping trips you can check out Walmart's Price Match Guarantee HERE. You won't get catalinas, extrabucks or register rewards, but you will get the price listed in your ad and you can use coupons on top of that.
