Our Autumn Mountain Getaway

First, I want to thank everyone who messaged me about our vacation.  You guys are awesome!  We did in fact have loads of fun despite Cades Cove and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park being closed due to the shutdown.  And let me add another bit of Irony - The parks opened back up the day after we left.  We were happy that my mother and father in law could go on this trip with us!  They celebrated their anniversary while we were there.

We ate at Huck Finn's Catfish twice.  We loved that place.  I loved that they served our sweet tea in big 'ole mason jars and my hubby loved the all you can eat catfish.

Our trash cans at the cabin had to be "bear proofed."  Unfortunately, we didn't see a bear. :o(

The porch was also great for snuggling.

Although the leaves hadn't completely changed beauty was everywhere.

Menly conversations on the porch.  I believe the topic of conversation here was why the grasshopper doesn't move when it's cold outside.

Me, hubby and Mitch took to the Forbidden Caverns.  Very cool stuff.

We also did some panning at the Goats on the Roof store.

In the valley below our cabin was this super cute pumpkin patch.  I loved the "Warty Things" - made me giggle.

I had never seen so many different types of pumpkins.  Any kind of pumpkin you wanted - they had it!

So much to choose from.

And even though it was a little warm for a fire, we still lit one and enjoyed S'mores!

I loved relaxing on the porch and looking at the pretty leaves.

We did a lot of miniature golf - our favorite course was Old McDonald's Farm.  We also did some shopping at the Tanger Outlets, ate sausage dogs/corn dogs and played games at Fannie Farkles, ate breakfast at the Apple Barn and did some Go-Kart racing at Fast Tracks.  My hubby and I also did the Smoky Moutain Alpine Coaster.  Our trip was slam full of activities and I feel like we needed a vacation from our vacation!
